You might be asking yourself right now what a post about Kerbal Space Program is doing on Cliqist as the game never hit Kickstater. While that may be true, it sure did receive a heck of a lot of pre-release funding in other ways… but that’s not the point either! The reason we’re discussing it is because this game is the latest one to receive the Gamer’s Edition treatment. In case you missed it, here an interview we did with them explaining the finer points of their purpose.

Basically, Gamer’s Edition is crowdfunding the creation of limited physical edition games. If enough people don’t pre-order a copy, then none will actually go into production at all. See how that’s similar to Kickstarter’s fixed funding concept? They previously ran campaigns for Papers, Please and Hotline Miami. Unfortunately, Papers, Please didn’t make the cut by the due date so hopefully that doesn’t repeat itself with Kerbal Space Program. This ridiculous limited edition includes a diorama complete with PVC figures based on Bill, Bob, Jeb, and your own character. Also included is a KSP mobile to hang wherever you feel like sharing your Kerbal love. Then there’s a patch proclaiming “we’ll get there eventually” in Latin. Oh, you also get a Steam key.

It’s quite a hefty bunch of stuff that Gamer’s Edition have stuffed into the Kerbal Space Program box and it comes with quite the asking price of $85. With 49 days and around 2,300 orders to go, it seems feasible that this will be the next Gamer’s Edition set to go into production.
