skyjacker1Digitilus has returned to Kickstarter with a new campaign for Skyjacker, their curiously titled but beautiful looking space shooter.  This is the fourth campaign for Skyjacker, with the first two showing improvement but still falling short of their targets.  The third campaign, for the game’s ship builder, was modest by way of comparison, but succeeded in meeting its funding goals.

The current campaign for Skyjacker is for the game itself, and shows significant improvement over the previous attempts at funding.  The video is more coherent, the gameplay and graphics show vast improvements, and the message is much more professional overall.

So what’s Skyjacker?  While it looks like any number of other space shooters, this one has a couple unique hooks to set it apart.  First of all, instead of playing Johnny Hero, you play a space pirate, attacking and hijacking ships and convoys.  You’re also able to salvage parts from defeated enemies and customize your ship.  While Skyjacker includes the single player campaign and multiplayer features you’d expect, it also features co-op and an in-depth mission builder.

Check out the Skyjacker Kickstarter page for more information, including screenshots, music, and a link to the playable demo (or go here if you’re particularly lazy).

The Digitilus team aren’t taking no for an answer, and they look to be taking feedback to heart, so check out what they’ve been up to.
