Blobs have a long illustrious history in videogames; from A Boy & His Blob, to Chronic Logic’s fantastic Gish, there’s something gamers love about a character we would be repulsed by in real life. And now Extend Studios are Kickstarting their own entry into the blog market, So Many Me. As the title implies So Many Me is the Multiplicity of blob games, with a snotty hero named Filo controlling a group of his clones through a variety of cartoonishly beautiful levels. As Filo comes across various obstacles, such as an impossibly wide gap, he’s able to command one of his clones to strategically position itself to help the rest of the group.
The So Many Me Kickstarter page has a ton of additional information on the game, including lots of gameplay footage and even a link to the playable demo. There’s even some cool information on some game crossovers, including American McGee’s Grimm, Dead Samurai Dishwasher, and Dust.
According to the gang at Extend, So Many Me is about 80% complete, and they’re looking to Kickstarter for the final $22,000 to make it happen while building a community for the game.
The Kickstarter campaign for So Many Me runs until December 15th. Be sure to check their updates often, they’ve been posting new info on a consistent basis since the campaign started.
