I was never a fan of the original Carmageddon, which is weird because I was square in the target demographic when it came out. 21 year old male that loved videogame violence with a high end PC; I should have been all over it, but instead I was an i76 guy.
So why the lack of love for Carmageddon; was it the immediately dated graphics, or the paper thin story? I was never able to figure it out, but thankfully I won’t have to try and go back to the original because the new Carmageddon has piqued my interest instead. Carmageddon: Reincarnation looks more and more fun every time I see it, fun looking car physics, a great looking damage model, and some hilariously bloody wipeouts. With a Steam Early Access release date of March 27th it looks like I’ll have a chance to check it out in no time. With Carmageddon and Next Car Game out there should be no shortage of vehicular destruction to enjoy in the coming months.
