We originally didn’t cover Cat Simulator during its campaign back in April 2014 because it showed very little promise. In fact, the developer barely showed anything at all other than a model of a white kitty cat. Now it’s 2015 and Cat Simulator is back! Although the campaign page still leaves something to be desired, it’s a lot more lively this time around. Now we actually know a little bit about what the game will become, so let’s discuss what’s new!
Cat Simulator apparently has two modes, one of which is comprised of simply looking at a cute kitty and petting it. Does this sound silly? Sure, but recall that Nintendo made a mint off a series focused around playing with a digital animal via Nintendogs, so it’s certainly not unheard of. In any case, the more noteworthy mode is Hunter wherein you become a cat. You get to explore the environment (which appears to be some sort of big cabin) and seek out mice. Or, if you want you can also simply destroy the environment by knocking things down to score more points. This sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Yeah, Catlateral Damage is basically all about causing havoc as a cat.
Funnily enough, the original Cat Simulator Kickstarter launched prior to Catlateral Damage’s did but of course offered no gameplay information. In any case, Game Teams Studio is asking for $10,000 to fund their game on PC. If you’d like to try Cat Simulator out now there are alpha builds for Android and iOS available to download.
