Ivent looks like a wacky, but wonderful game development studio. Back in 2013 they released a game by the name of Strength of the Sword 3 for PlayStation 3. And before you ask, no, there weren’t other games in the series prior to “3.” It looks like they’re finally ready to revisit their weapon-based brawler again as they just launched a Kickstarter campaign for Strength of the Sword Ultimate. Or, if you write it as stylized it looks a lot louder as “Strength of the SWORD ULTIMATE.” In any case, this is basically a huge upgrade of Strength of the Sword 3 for PC.
The original offered two game modes: Story and Survival. With the funds from this campaign Ivent expects to add PVP and co-op modes as well as something called Dark Mode. Then there will be the added bonus of added character customization. This wasn’t such a huge deal in the original single player release but will definitely help when folks are going online to fight against one another. Of course, in an ideal situation Strength of the Sword Ultimate would come to PC as well as PS4, Wii U, and Xbox One. However, that’d be a pretty expensive endeavor so consoles are left as a far off stretch goal.
Strength of the Sword Ultimate needs to raise $14,000 to succeed. It looks like fans have already discovered the campaign so hopefully more (as well as newcomers) jump in soon. So far it appears the game will be for Windows PCs and a Greenlight page is set to go live once the campaign closes.
