Wow, did someone christen this week as “visual novel time” on Kickstarter? Not as if there’s ever a real lack of them seeking crowdfunding, but a whole host of great ones just launched! The latest of the bunch if Jade. From what the campaign page tells us, it’s a simple story of a amnesiac guy who is woken by two young women. The three of them are set to have a lot of silly fun, but it’s up to the player to decide which character he fancies most. With that said, the developers have suggested this isn’t just another slice of life visual novel.
With that said, this statement is a bit too open-ended to explain what exactly makes Jade different:
We don’t really know how to qualify Jade, mostly because we don’t really know what we want it to be as a whole. But we want Jade to be unique and to stand out in the Indie visual novel industry.
In any case, at this point there are only two characters for players to pursue and each character will have two endings of her own (one good and one bad). There might even be a “surprise” ending, whatever that entails! As much as YouMadBroom Studios may deserve credit for trying to create a distinctive visual novel, they could stand to update the Kickstarter page so it actually reflects that – and actually explain more about the game as a whole.
You can try a demo of Jade on Windows or Mac on Game Jolt. If you’re so inclined, you can also back this new visual novel toward its approximately $1,542 goal (converted from Euros).

“We don’t really know how to qualify Jade, mostly because we don’t really know what we want it to be as a whole. But we want Jade to be unique and to stand out in the Indie visual novel industry”…Sorry but when you use wishy wahsy language, your not exactly inspiring people!
