Do you love survival games? The genre has absolutely exploded in this post-Minecraft world and it’s a lot of fun as everyone is coming up with their own iterations of the concept. A game called On My Own is the latest survival adventure title out there. Developed by Beach Interactive, it is currently on Kickstarter to become an even better product. You see, there’s already a neat little preview build of the game on Android and iOS, but it doesn’t encompass the full scope of what the team wants!

On My Own is a 2D survival adventure game that's crowdfunding on Kickstarter.

On My Own puts you in the shoes of an adventurous (and bearded) man who is surviving in the wilderness. To do so he’ll have to collect resources, craft them into useful tools, hunt, forage, and nourish himself. You’ll do all this in a pixelated isometric landscape which looks fairly simplistic, but also kind of cute. Although there is currently only one biome implemented getting Kickstarted would allow for other seasonal biomes to be created. Similarly, with funding they’ll be able to add in more animals as well as more ways to nab food (fishing, for example). Beyond that there will simply be more activities to perform and crafting recipes.

As mentioned earlier, the game is already available in some capacity on mobile so feel free to download On My Own and see how long you can survive (oh, and here’s a link to the web version if you don’t want to play via mobile). If successful, all this additional content will be added in as an in-app purchase. Of course, backers from $5 and up are set to receive free access to all upcoming DLC. The game requires $2,500 on Kickstarter to succeed and you can vote for it on Steam Greenlight.
