So many times it feels that otome visual novels all feature the same protagonist. Many of these leading women tend to be shy, quiet, and just so happen to be dude magnets. Prank Masters stands out immediately by giving its protagonist some bite. Juliet is a teenager who loves pulling pranks on people. So much so that, even when she begins going to a new school, she can’t help but start a brand new prank war with her peers. Of course, this is sure to lead to all sorts of wacky situations.
Unfortunately, there’s not a huge amount to go off of via the Prank Masters Kickstarter page. With that said, it appears the game has been in the works since 2014. Heck, there’s already a sizable demo available for anyone to check out on Windows, Mac, or Linux computers. Please also note that although Juliet has a few cute girl friends that they can’t actually become her, well, actual “girlfriends.” That definitely seems like a bit of a missed opportunity, but each developer is free to pursue or not pursue a diversity of character romances.
If Prank Masters is successfully funded to the tune of approximately $2,321 (converted from AUD) then it will hopefully reach the planned release window of February 2016. The campaign page doesn’t seem to actually mention what platforms it will release on, but I’m going to assume that it is planned for PC since that’s what the demo released for. Once the visual novel is ready it’ll be released as a completely free-to-play title.
