Indie developer Paul Zakrzewski has returned to Kickstarter following his successful Void Destroyer campaign. This time, he’s hoping to secure funding for the game’s sequel, Void Destroyer 2. Most of the game’s funding is being pooled from Void Destroyer’s success, with Zakrewski hoping to raise a further $10,000 from the Kickstarter community for additional support, which isn’t a huge ask if you’re a fan of the original. The man did quit his day job to work on this project, after all, so you can be sure he’ll be putting his all into it. Gotta make them bucks, after all. No room for half-measures.

Void Destroyer 2As for the game itself, Void Destroyer 2 is pitched as a space sandbox that combines flight simulator gameplay with RTS elements. Want to take part in dogfights? Control fleets? Become a space pirate? Void Destroyer 2 could be the game for you. The game looks nice, too, with a colorful cel-shaded art style reminiscent of the recent Borderlands games. Even if you just want to mine rocks, you’ll at least be able to mine pretty ones.

Void Destroyer 2There’s an abundance of information on the project’s Kickstarter page and a handy pitch video if you’re interested in learning more about the project. It’s not my kind of game, personally, but from what I’ve seen, I have every faith that Zakrzewski will get the job done. If you’re tempted to back the project, you have my go-ahead, anyway. You can do so here, and make sure to follow the developer on Twitter while you’re at it.
