swordsofedo1During the Edo period of Japan’s history, samurai were the law. Some corrupt and some just, the judge jury and executioner was the blade. What would happen if Japan had stayed this way, and never been opened up to the outside world? Well, Swords of Edo, by AJTilley, hopes to answer that question. There will be bloodshed. There will be conquest, betrayal, and romance. There will be- Oh, hold on a second. There will be lacey bras. Sweet.

In a Japan excluded from the outside world, magic still lingers in the souls of the people and otherworldly creatures roam the mountains and wastes of the country that brought us Bobobo-bo bo-bobo. Samurai and powerful warriors still hold all the power, reminiscent of a much cruel age of Japanese history. In a modern-day political stalemate between the warring factions, you’re sent undercover to a high school to investigate bombings, and the first step towards bringing evil to justice is… picking out your underwear for the day.

Yes, you start your day by deciding whether a padded bra would be better than a silky one, and later that day you decide if someone lives or dies, so I’d probably go with the silky number, honestly. A working demo of Swords of Edo is available to backers so head over to the Kickstarter if you want that, and vote on Steam Greenlight to support the game if you can’t donate!
