Usually, when a person starts a Kickstarter they’re extremely clear about what they intend to make. This is most likely done to attract money and an audience that will appreciate the final product, but sometimes it leads to disappointment. Sometimes, the final product simply doesn’t live up to the descriptions. Fortunately for us, the Kickstarter for Frog Fractions 2 doesn’t actually say a damn thing about what kind of game it is, and the mysterious nature of this game’s Kickstarter is very intriguing.
So when I think “Frog Fractions 2”, I assume that developer Twinbeard is simply making a sequel to his first successful flash game, Frog Fractions, but the Kickstarter promises something very different. They promise; well, nothing specific. In an interesting and extremely bold move, Twinbeard has decided he’s not going to tell us a damn thing about Frog Fractions 2, aside from the fact that it won’t actually be called that.
“It will not be called “Frog Fractions 2.” It will probably be called something like “Lost Kingdom: Reckoning,” by Fork Bomb LLC or “Turbo Finance 2015” by Vespenta Holdings.”
So what are we backing, then? Well, we’re actually backing a mystery game, and Twinbeard promises only one thing: It’s going to be fantastic. It’s going to be released in secret and we’re going to have to hunt for it and figure out what it is on our own “Until The Jig Is Up”, at which point, he’ll reveal to us what, exactly, the game is. All we know is that the Kickstarter is currently seeking funding, the video is strange and hilarious, the game’s soundtrack includes some excellent artists, and if you donate $2000, you get one of two twin beards, encased in a resin Power Totem.
They must never come together.
