Ever wonder that 1940s-era Europe would be like without all those dreadful Nazis running about, making things generally gloomy? Well, wonder no longer, because Errant Heart, an upcoming visual novel from the two-man team of Van Von Hunter, takes place in exactly the Nazi-free utopia you’ve always imagined. If you already know all of this, keep reading, because this news is especially juicy for backers of the project. There are 335 of you out there, and since only one of you has commented on the latest update, I think you may want to read on, because you’re missing out on the beta.
That’s right! Anyone who backed and made an account on the Errant Heart forums can now log into their forum accounts and snag the full beta of Errant Heart long before its formal release! Backers, you can leave now, but non-backers, there’s a little more for you.
The full release date of Errant Heart has yet to be confirmed, but it looks like a really solid game in the making. Artwork is fine, and despite some odd coloring choices, the characters seem diverse enough to make things interesting, especially since… Wait, scratch the diversity part. Of the twelve characters shown on the Kickstarter page, 9 of them are cute girls, one of them is an old lady, and two of them are cute guys. So it’s a visual novel, but seemingly, a very high quality one with quite a bit more thought put into it than the typical fanfiction nightmare. Definitely check it out if you’re thinking about giving visual novels a chance, it’s a genre full of interesting surprises that is too often overlooked.
