There was a time when the gaming world believed full motion video (FMV) titles were the wave of the future. After all, how more realistic could graphics get than actual video?! Unfortunately, that trend died thanks to a great degree of low quality titles, much to the dismay of FMV lovers. Breakfast Games are looking to recapture the FMV spirit (with all its inherent silliness included) in their upcoming title Two Tomorrows From Now which is currently on Kickstarter.

Two Tomorrows From Now is an improvisational FMV adventure game that's crowdfunding on Kickstarter.

While most crowdfunding campaigns would try to sell you on their deep narrative, the focus here is primarily on the improv concept of “yes, and” wherein you do not say no to someone during idea generation to lead to far more interesting results than would result from closing yourself off. The adventure game will include FMV, yes, but what your character ends up doing and the choices they’ll have to face will be defined by players. Each 15 minute playthrough will allow for a huge breadth of weirdness to occur – or heck, maybe it’ll be totally monotonous, but you’ll have yourself to blame as you’re the one driving the story! All of it sounds a bit ridiculous, but in a wonderful way.

If you’re not convinced of Breakfast Games’ ability to create an odd, lovely game then check out their previous title Backer Reward. The team are asking for $30,000 to make Two Tomorrows From Now a success. In the meantime, try and see if you can stare at their smiling faces for all 15:37 minutes of their Kickstarter video.
