If there’s one company which is known for amazing quality visual novels then it is the Japanese developer Type-Moon. Of course, their many titles have inspired others to create their own games. One of these titles is Wish -tale of the sixteenth night of lunar month- by doujin team Migiha. For those unfamiliar with the term, doujin is basically what we know here as indie. This is just the first in the Wish series, and that’s why localizer Culture Select has opted to begin with it. This campaign does not simply fund the localization of Wish into English and Spanish, it also gets the wheels turning for Culture Select themselves.
Culture Selects hopes that they will be able to gain an audience via Kickstarter. Through crowdfunidng, they hope to bring a whole host of great story-based games to English and Spanish speaking audiences. It’s worth noting that even the Kickstarter page features descriptions in both languages to appeal to both their audiences. Culture Select is certainly not the first to the visual novel localization bandwagon on Kickstarter. However, their focus on more than just English readers may prove a boon over others such as Sekai Project. We’ll have to see!
Do you want to get a taste of Wish -tale of the sixteenth night of lunar month- for yourself? I certainly do, as the campaign page doesn’t really provide much explanation of what the game’s plot actually is! Here’s a link to the English trial version to check out the storytelling for yourself. Please note that (despite a focus on multilingual releases) the funding goal of $4,800 for Wish only guarantees an English version. The $5,500 stretch goal adds Spanish.

Backed it! ^_^
Looks cool, but I just dumped a pretty penny into Max’s Big Bust. Still $7 to get the game isn’t too bad.
