Backers of dating sim Beach Bounce rejoice. The game now has an official release date. Actually, several release dates. According to the latest update AJ Tilley has decided to break the game up into three chapters, each being released at various intervals until the end of the year. You read that right. It’s going to be episodic. Which is something that comes as a bit of a surprise to me as nowhere has he mentioned it going to be handled piecemeal. At least each chapter will be a free update and there won’t be any “DLC crap to install” according to Tilley.
Now, before you go out and grab your pitchforks and torches hear me out. I think this could be a good move. It would give us a look at the first third of Beach Bounce a lot earlier than we would have if it were released all at once. And the first part will be in our hands on August 14. That’s two weeks away. The second and third parts will be handed out October 12 and December 14 respectively.
Also, don’t forget that you can preorder it on Steam, too.
The game doesn’t look half bad, if they price it right, it might be worth checking out!
I don’t think it is a good move. I don’t think that that VN is a long piece of work in the first place. I mean Beach Bounce…? It’s not Stein Gate..or Clannad. So make 3 pieces of almost nothing..? It’ll disappoint the backers.
I’m taking a “wait and see” approach here. It might be a good thing and it might piss off everyone. I’ll withhold judgment until I see the first part.
Haha, I love your comment and agree with you. Obviously I cannot say for certain whether Beach Bounce has a deep plot or intriguing characters since I’ve not played it. But the title (and Tilley’s previous work) makes me assume otherwise.
Unless he makes three part involving each time a different set of swimsuits for the characters..? ^^
There is so much differeny types of swimsuits for girls, i could almost understand it 😛
