Think Classic Final Fantasy, meets Sim City, meets Harry Potter. A school simulator with a classic JRPG twist.
Valthirian Arc: Red Covenant certainly has an interesting sell, and it’s sure to attract fans of the JRPG genre. This latest game in the Valthirian Arc series has arrived on Kickstarter, where it hopes to raise $40,000 towards the game’s development by the 13th of November. If you’re a fan of the series, get on it!
And if you’ve never come across Valthirian Arc before, it’s a JRPG series, though I’m sure you’ve figured that out by now. What’s so special about this latest game? Well, it brings the series from its 2D origins into a fully-rendered 3D world now, though developer Agate Studio plans on keeping the characters sprite-based so as to maintain the classic JRPG feel of its series.
It’s set to contain a bunch of interesting features too, such as a newly improved real-time battle system, an upgradable school with students that can be recruited and trained at the player’s will, multiple endings, and a crafting system.
I’m not exactly a coinosseur of the JRPG genre, but from what I can see, it all looks very good and polished. The project’s Kickstarter page is very informative too, and there are a whole host of backer rewards that will no doubt be very enticing to fans of the genre. Seems like a safe bet. Interested? You have my go-ahead. Support the project here, and follow Agate Studio on Twitter for more.
