Viva la revolucion! Most adventure games take you on a quest of some importance. Whether it’s to save the kingdom or just to find a nice place to nap most tend to be on the epic side of epicness. And Viktor looks to take this idea and has our “hero” strive to take down the emperor of his country. For whatever reason it is, it’s left unclear in the pitch. After an unsuccessful Kickstarter late last year they’re back on Indiegogo to give it a second shot. Hopefully they’ll do better this time around.
Viktor is a boar that’s had enough of the dude in charge of Austria-Hungary and sets out on a quest to depose of said emperor. Presumably to take his place, or something. Aside from that juicy tidbit, the fact that all of the characters in the game are anthropomorphic animals, and a promise of plenty of humor little else is mentioned. But, that’s just enough to capture my attention and made me check it out.
We at Studio Spektar believe in equality. Because of that, we believe that everybody should be offended equally. No matter if you are from Mei-Din, Ban-An-As or Austria-Hungary (like we are!).
This alone was enough to make me want to know more about this fictional yet somehow familiar world. I’ve always been of the mind that if you want to make fun of someone you should make fun of everyone equally. Just check out the obviously accurate map above. If the pitch is any indication I’m sure that I’d find something about Viktor to enjoy. Probably the entire game. Because it’s an adventure game, mostly. And, if you want to “try before you buy” you can check out the demo they’ve provided.
