Noct, the multiplayer survival horror game by C3SK, is about to go through a lot of changes. In light of some bad reviews slamming the early access game the developer has decided to put the game in a sort of second alpha phase. They will be balancing weapons & damage, adding enemy monster fixes along with making them harder, adding higher contrasting graphics, as well as drastically improving the framerate on lower end GPU’s. They are also going to completely remove the story line/tutorial for revision. C3SK has gone as far as to advise potential buyers to wait until the game is a little further along before they shell out the $9.99 price tag. Even though all of this change is happening somewhat out of the blue, backers have shown overwhelming support for the project with a willingness to wait for the games promised improvements.
Noct has mixed reviews on Steam, with even the negative ones commenting on how great the game is. The major problem seems to stem from the fact that the game feels more like a demo than a full release, even for early access. Backers love the idea of the game, but are hoping for something more coming over the horizon. C3SK is managing to keep a steady line of communication open, promising to have more update out as soon as they have something tangible to show. Here is hoping that Noct can bounce back and deliver a full fledged experience. It would be a shame for such a interesting survival horror game to waste its potential.
This was one of the projects I supported, and I do hold out great hopes that the end product will be amazing.
The development team has been great at keeping everyone informed, and that is a huge plus in my books.
One mistake here, it is mostly postive overall, but mixed in last 30 days(with the new rating system on Steam).
