Fans of System Shock with a Sony bent can finally rejoice, as news of a PS4 release for the remake has officially been announced.
According to a recent update from developer Nightdive Studios, “When we launched this Kickstarter, supporting PS4 was a possibility, but we hadn’t started talking to Sony just yet about it. We were all focused on wrapping the demo up and prepping the Kickstarter.” Demand for a PS4 port has been high, so a nice boost from this announcement seems likely.
Along with the PS4 release, Nightdive also announced that ports for Mac and Linux releases of the game are officially a go. The team stated work is in progress right now to have their demo prepped and ready for the OSX audience, and estimates its release as early as next week. As of this time, no word has been given about a Linux port of the demo.
