I’m a fan of horror stories, particularly those that don’t rely on jump scares or gore. Never Look Back looks to be just the kind of horror adventure that I’m looking for, but unfortunately we don’t know much about the plot. That said, the pitch does go into enough detail to at least pique my interest. There is certainly enough to put in at least the minimum to get a copy of the game.

Never Look Back

Never Look Back is about a writer plagued with nightmares for weeks. He then finds himself knocked out and subsequently wakes up in some strange mansion with apparently no way out. That’s really all we know about the plot, but thankfully there’s a demo to try out. Hopefully, said demo answers any lingering questions that I still have. There’s enough already shown off to make me pledge, but it’ll take more than that to up my donation.

Never Look Back

Despite Never Look Back being light on story elements, the classic adventure game charm is what sold me on backing before trying out the demo. Movement is done using the keyboard, but otherwise this is your standard point and click fare. You’ll be solving puzzles, using inventory items, and just trying to stay alive to the end.

I would have loved to have known more about the story, but the pitch for Never Look Back is just enough to put a few dollars in to see how it plays out. Perhaps the demo sheds some light on what’s missing, though.
