I’m all for games that have the themes of love, respect, and tolerance. However, it’s hard to see any of that in a campaign where you don’t know anything about it. The Saint Road is supposedly a game where you play as Catholic saints and heroes, but that’s really all we know. We don’t know the story, and we don’t know how it plays. The video doesn’t even accurately convey what to expect.

The Saint Road

In addition, the video itself is in Spanish. It would have been great to have English subtitles or something for those of us who aren’t bilingual. At least the campaign text is in both languages so readers can glean a little bit from it. Unfortunately, there’s nothing of any real substance here. The video makes The Saint Road look like a sort of Frogger clone, but it’s hard to tell.

The artwork looks interesting, a sort of homage to Minecraft, maybe? Again, I can’t tell from the video or the lack of images. All they have to show off is the characters. And the reward tiers are equally perplexing. I couldn’t make heads or tails out of what’s being offered. From what I can tell, nothing of any real substance is given. I don’t even see a “get the game at this tier” reward.

The Saint Road

Here’s the thing. I’m not really a religious person, but I could certainly enjoy one with religious themes.  Unfortunately, there’s far from enough here to even get me to star it. I don’t doubt that The Saint Road is a legit campaign, but I don’t see it taking flight.
