scrapyard1Normally, here on Cliqist, we will cover video games that are crowdfunded. However, from time to time we come across some pretty amazing table top games that we just can’t turn away from. In this case, it’s Scrapyard Empire by Galliant Games which is currently on Kickstarter seeking funding for $15,000. Already in the first couple days of the campaign, Galliant Games is less than $300 shy of meeting their funding goal.

Scrapyard Empire is a tabletop card game for up to four players. Each player is given a list of inventions to create and limited amount of resources from the scrapyard. Anything found in the scrapyard can be used to produce these inventions. The player to put together two inventions first is considered the winner. Each game is expected to last around 60 minutes in length.

If you want to kill a little bit of time before the game actually starts, there is a solitaire option available for one player, which is expected to last between 10 and 15 minutes.

scrapyard2On the Kickstarter page, Galliant is offering two different versions of Scrapyard Empire. First, the Basic Edition, coming in at $25, offering all the cards, 8 characters. and guides and instructions. At $65, the deluxe edition offers additional mats, boards, dice, and customized miniatures.

Galliant Games launched Scrapyard Empire on Kickstarter to finalize the production of the game and get it a bit more attention. A good portion of the artwork is completed but there’s much remaining that needs some work. They plan to work on the artwork all the way through August and begin producing the box set. Shipping to backers is tentatively scheduled for March 2015.
