With any project, really, there is a timeline scoping out when each portion of it will be completed and when releases are to be expected. Missing deadlines is one of the game developers most dreaded part of development. With Welcome to Boon Hill, a graveyard simulator about reading tombstones and the stories behind them, the heavy deadline hanging overhead cannot be avoided either.

This is where optimism and communication come in handy for the developers.

boonhill1Welcome to Boon Hill was funded back in March of 2013 to the tune of almost $13,000 and since then the developers have been tirelessly working to wrap up development. According to the most recent developer update things are looking incredibly optimistic for Welcome to Boon Hill. With the “One Year Overdue” anniversary coming up next month, things are looking decent. Originally, Welcome to Boon Hill was promised to be finished in August of 2013, just a few months after the launch of the Kickstarter campaign but setback after setback moved the release further along.

Now, with the game relatively complete, there are still countless bugs that need fixing before the final release.  Boon Hill is all about reading graves, not avoiding weird floating objects. On a negative note, considering the litter of bugs the team has seen pop up lately, they’re considering saying goodbye to the weather system that was temporarily implemented.

Hopefully the Welcome to Boon Hill team will be able to get the game out soon and not celebrate another anniversary of development.
