We see a lot of visual novels in the crowdfunding scene. Many, if not most of them, are romantically-themed. That’s actually kind of strange, when you think about it, as developing a visual novel around a different theme, say, revenge, would automatically give your project an interesting hook.

That’s exactly what Kimberly Crawley has done with Hackers Versus Banksters, which recently launched on Kickstarter with a modest $753 funding goal.

Hackers Versus BankstersSo what’s it about, exactly? Kickstarter has all the information you need:

“Toronto Mistrust Bank stole $70,000 from Tankboy. Now Tankboy and Crowgirl are in deep poverty. But Toronto Mistrust chose the wrong poor people to mess around with… they’re master hackers!”

Crawley describes herself as an ‘information security geek’ in her bio, so it’s clear to see where she got her inspiration. An interesting perspective, indeed.

Hackers Versus BankstersHackers Versus Banksters players will be able to choose from one of three revenge-induced cyber-attack plans, leading to a variety of different endings. The project’s art style looks very thrown together, but there’s a certain charm to it if you look really hard.
