Back in High School, I used to play Halo Custom Edition with my fellow Animation peers on the school computers. Honestly, it’s probably the most fun I had back in those days and it taught me a little something about classic arena games. Classic arena and multiplayer shooter games are fun and killing your friends in a video game is an appropriate stress release.
Upon examining the Reflex Kickstarter campaign, I was taken back to those happy times. Now, Reflex offers a similar experience and we’re stoked about it.
Reflex is a first person shooter classic arena multiplayer game created by Melbourne-based studio, Turbo Pixel. In Reflex, players go head to head with essentially robots in an arena. Players are offered many customization and editorial options, including an in game multiplayer map editor -to build with friends and destroy friends in – and in game replay editor – where players can create films or highlight reels with their footage.
Currently, Reflex is only planned to be released on Windows since Turbo Pixel created their engine from the ground up and may be unable to export to Mac or Linux. There is talk of possibly doing so in the future, but it is not a guarantee at the moment.
A game of this level requires lot of time and funds. Though Turbo Pixel has slaved over Reflex for roughly a year, they need tons of financial support to carry out the next 18+ months of development and contract artists, musicians, etc. For that, the team has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Reflex, asking for $360K AUD.
You can track Reflex on our release calendar.
