Although PAX East was scheduled to end on Sunday, March 31, it has now been extended for a fifth day! PAX East day 5 is today, to the delight of all. Hopefully not all the game developers have left the fine city of Boston.
PAX stands for Penny Arcade Expo. The festival is for celebrating games and game culture, as well as showcasing independent game developers. The show has been happening for 15 years now.
Both East and West have experimented with 4 day-long events for the most recent expos. The overwhelmingly positive response has resulted in an even longer festival.
“We don’t really know why,” says Ms. Arcade. “We have not asked developers for feedback on this decision, no.”
Apparently, the aim is to make PAX one month-long affair, with East, West, South, Aus, and Unplugged taking place back to back to back to back to back. The locations will remain the same.
No indie game developers could be reached for comment. As a matter of fact, they couldn’t be reached at all. There are unconfirmed reports of a related loud sound, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror.
