casinorpg2As hard as it may be to believe, not all games on Kickstarter and IndieGoGo are platformers, roguelikes, dating sims, or Oculus Rift enabled.  Some of the games are a bit more straightforward, like CasinoRPG from GoldFire Studios.  Funded on Kickstarter in early 2013 for just over $20,000 CasinoRPG is exactly what it sounds like, an RPG where the player runs a casino.  Throw in playable casino games, browser play, an MMO style persistent online world, and casino design and construction and you have a mixture of standard game types creating something a bit more unique.  You can try it out for yourself now by taking a look at the free beta.  If betas aren’t your thing then you’ll be happy to know that CasinoRPG is scheduled to be released on April 16th, less than two weeks away.

Sure, a free to play casino MMO may not be the usual artistic fare that gamers say we enjoy these days, but sometimes it’s worth checking out something outside of your comfort zone.  If you don’t like it then you could always send word to your mother.
