With over fifteen years of experience making games, Micah Bett, is putting together a brawler game like no other. Combat Core is an arena-based brawler reminiscent of classics such as Super Smash Bros. and Power Stone. He has been developing his project, Combat Core, full-time since fall of 2013, all the while self funding it. Now, Bett is turning to Kickstarter to help him live for the next 8-10 months to make Combat Core the game he dreams of.
In addition to that, if Combat Core gets funding through Kickstarter, OUYA will match it thanks to the #FreeGamesFund where they match the amount indie developers have raised dollar for dollar. Bett getting funding from Kickstarter will more than cover the amount necessary to make Combat Core a reality.
Combat Core is an arena-based brawler with tons of options. Players can go at it 1v1 or up to 4v4. There are several original characters to choose from, however, players are able to customize a character with favorable traits for the playing style they want. There’s an array of weaponry and skills players can utilize to go head to head in the arena and with the funding provided, the developer will be able to broaden games’ scope significantly. At the moment, there’s already a playable demo/alpha available to play to give the general idea of the game. No release date is set in mind, but 2015 seems to be the window he is aiming for. Combat Core will be released on PC and OUYA but with the addition of licenses gained through Kickstarter funding, we can hope to see it expand to WiiU, PS4, and possibly Xbox One. [divider]
