As gamers, we never have enough time to play every new video game out there. When you add in free games that complicates things even further. Immortal Empire is a browser-based game which is free to play and has developed a fan following all the same. In August, Tactic Studios’ title made its way successfully through Steam Greenlight. As exciting as this was, the team knew they wanted to bring a newer, bigger version to Steam rather than just port an existing browser experience.

Immortal Empire is a strategy RPG where players control one of five immortals. These powerful beings enter into battle where players must smartly plan every move. Players view the battlefield from an isometric perspective and can utilize a wide variety of attacks and strategies in any given situation. As the game is already “finished,” what do they need to crowdfund for? Great question! By being a browser game, Immortal Empires is a tiny 15MB product. With more space to create, the game can be upgraded with higher quality audio, new gameplay features, and fullscreen support.

The rewards for this campaign should be of special interest to current Immortal Empire browser players. If you back and receive rewards of immortals (or credits) they can be immediately transferred to your account. You’ll be able to utilize these goods now, rather than having to wait for Steam release. Of course, once the game lands on Steam you’ll be able to transfer your account to that version as well. A modest goal of $8,000 will make sure that Steam players get the best version of Immortal Empire possible.
