Her hair is pink. She has kitty ears. Like all police officers, she adores donuts. Now she’s in a pickle like no other.
Indonesian game studio Touchten has been making games since 2009, and now, they’re paying homage to Mega Man and Temple Run with a Japanese police cat-girl and they’ve brought it to Kickstarter.
In Target Acquired the story begins with the main character, Yura Anders, minding her own business in a seemingly ordinary day in Nekomipolis. Little does she know that the notorious robot mouse thief, Cammy, has stirred up trouble once again and is up to no good. In a 3D side-scrolling runner action adventure, players find themselves in the middle of a game of cat and mouse and the chase is on.
Yura’s abilities are basic, allowing the player to run, jump, dash, shoot, and even operate miscellaneous vehicles on the levels. But with each level and obstacle, she grows stronger and stronger, acquiring new armor and abilities each time.
Maintaining the momentum of its inspirers, Touchten has even welcomed aboard video game music composer legend Manami Matsumae – also member of Brave Wave – who will be covering all the sound effects and music. Combining this with the essence of a metropolis, Mega Man fanatics will swoon at the sight of this campaign.
Target Acquired is planned for release on Windows, Mac, and Android and iOS devices. Touchten is aiming to raise $10K on Kickstarter to pay for the remaining months of development up until the May 2015 release date. For those who purchase the Beta release pledge, they will receive Target Acquired in January 2015. The Target Acquired campaign will conclude November 27th.
