The Grisaia Trilogy is a visual novel being released by Sekai Project that's smashed its $160k Kickstarter in less than 24 hours.

The Grisaia Trilogy is a very unique set of visual novels which began with The Fruit of Grisaia in 2011. The story revolves around Mihama Academy which at first appears to be a typical sort of private school. However, when protagonist Kazami Yuuji arrives he realizes there are only five girls enrolled. This strange aspect is just the start as he befriends each character and learns more about them. Thanks to positive player reaction, the game became a series with sequels The Labyrinth of Grisaia and The Eden of Grisaia. Heck, there are even spin-offs!

It seems that visual novel fans really wanted to play Grisaia in full because in less than 24 hours after putting the Kickstarter online, funding has already surpassed the $160,000 goal. By the time you read this it will have likely climbed even higher! Although the main campaign was set to simply publish the main series, there’s a stretch goal to localize spin-off Idol Magical Girl Chiruchiru ☆ Michiru as well. This should prove absolutely no challenge seeing how passionate these backers are.

The Grisaia Trilogy is a visual novel being released by Sekai Project that's smashed its $160k Kickstarter in less than 24 hours. So that’s a possibility of four games being translated and localized by Sekai Project thanks to a single crowdfunding campaign. But that is not where this ends. If they reach the next stretch goal at $240,000 (and they almost certainly will) the Grisaia series will also see console ports. The biggest question right now is simply whether or not this campaign will include an 18+ version of the game as well as the M-rated console ports or not. It looks like that’s something they’ll only announce near the end, unfortunately.
