2D action platformers are one hot commodity on Kickstarter, with at least a handful cropping up every month. Izzy’s Revenge is the latest and thankfully offers up some distinguishing characteristics to draw viewer attention. The game tells the story of Izzy after her scientist father dies in a zeppelin accident. Prior to this, the two had been partners in research – but now she is all alone. With her brilliant mind, and need for revenge, she strikes out against the four guilds which oversee Steelbridge. Along the way she will recover weapon plans and use them against all enemies in her path.

There’s a strong focus on keeping combat fast and fluid in Izzy’s Revenge. Although a ton hasn’t yet been revealed about it, it seems that combos will play a strong role. As you progress you’ll also gain access to an increasing array of weaponry. Then there’s the steampunk aesthetic which is always fun to look at, as well as the neat animated cartoon vibe that the colorful characters and backdrop bring to the experience. Players can either go through the storyline, beating the four guild bosses (as well as minibosses in between) or take on arena mode instead. There may be more to the final version of Izzy’s Revenge but so far that’s all which has been shared via Kickstarter.

If you’d like to help this game succeed then pledge, but also share it around as there’s still a ways to go before the $55,000 goal is reached. Izzy’s Revenge is not currently on Steam Greenlight but it is pegged for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
