It’s rare to see a game focus on repetition in the story. Sure, there’s a lot of genres out there that use things like grinding and such to inflate play time but we don’t see a “return to the beginning” concept very much outside of game over screens. Which is why Valk Unit Zero looks to be an interesting take on the “Groundhog Day” treatment in the sense that you’ll be forced to relive the events leading up to a catastrophic event inspired by Norse mythology. You’ll retain your memories and hopefully save the world. That’s the gist of what we know so far.
Valk Unit Zero will be launching on Kickstarter on February 2, which is just a few days away, and if you’re a fan of action-adventure RPGs featuring Cyberpunk themes and end-of-the-world scenarios make sure that you mark your calendar. From what I’ve seen so far it looks to be worth watching if not backing.
Keep an eye on the Vaulk Unit Zero Twitter and Tumblr accounts for more info.
