In humanity’s greed for resources we’ve nearly depleted our planet’s reserve. Our only hope lies in reaching beyond the atmosphere and finding a solution to keep our species from dieing out. That’s pretty much the backstory for Deliver Us the Moon, an interesting looking adventure game set on our lunar neighbor. For all intents and purposes it’s just you, the moon, and a series of abandoned bases from the past during the space race. If you’re looking for an action packed fire fight with strange and hostile aliens then you’ll be disappointed.

From what I can tell, Deliver Us the Moon is more or less a game about exploration and discovering the tale behind these empty structures from various nations as they attempted to find a solution to the dwindling resource problem. Until now nobody could agree upon a course of action but with extinction rearing its ugly head you’d think that they’d drop their differences and work together. This may or may not be the case here but we do know that you play as a rogue astronaut sent on a secret mission to bring back something to save us. No pressure or anything, right?

I love a good atmospheric game that doesn’t drop jump scares on you all the time or that invents some time sensitive catastrophe that’ll wipe everything out in hours, and Deliver Us the Moon looks to be that kind of game. Some might call this a walking simulator with some puzzles, and for all I know it might be, but as long as the story is as gripping as promised I’m sure that this one will be worth playing. Thankfully for those of us who aren’t sure if we want to back it or not we can download and try out the “WSA Space Center”, a sort of tech demo with more information on what to expect from the final game.
