I am very impressed by the developers of Crossing Souls and their Kickstarter. You may remember that we covered this game back in 2014 when it was still looking for funding. What a time it has been since then! The latest update shows that this 80s-inspired 2D Action-RPG has really started to come together fabulously since we last laid eyes on it. It was due out in March, but I’m sure you will forgive that tardiness when you clap eyes on how the prototype is going.

80s inspired, can’t you tell by the colours?

For a while, Crossing Souls hadn’t really been sharing images which left us going hmm. However, in a previous update, they told the backers that they had been working on the prototype mechanics without all the pixel art being complete. So they didn’t want to share any ugly images from the Unity engine, but it did leave us hanging and wondering. There wasn’t any update about missing their original deadline in March, but I think it was quite expected. Still, the previous update was all the way in January so I should be scolding them for keeping backers in the dark for so long. However, the WIP Gameplay Trailer was definitely a good appeasement for me, not to mention the animated cutscenes for this game. I really say go check out the latest update for yourself because I really can’t do it service.

Currently, the team’s working 12-15 hour shifts while they test and fine tune mechanics.

Steady progress is being made, but the developers have a lot ahead of them. The need to work on the game’s saving system, add more bosses and pretty things up a bit. If you had any advice for the developers what would it be? Comment below and tell me what you think of Crossing Souls’ progress.
