Vulpine, an open-world survival game developed by Clockwork Giant Games, is running a Kickstarter campaign to the tune of $30,000 over the course of 42 days. It’s not just another open-world game where you grind for resources and worry incessantly about food and shelter; you can choose to play as one of several animals, including a, “fox, wolf, bear, rabbit, and more!”
The game isn’t too heavy on realism, with each animal wielding a weapon of some sorts, such as a sword for some fast-paced slicing and dicing, a hammer for punishing put-downs, or a spear for long-range sniping. While roaming the lands of Vulpine you’ll come across a variety of prey and predators, the latter even in the form of mythical creatures like dragons, larger-than-life spiders and so forth.
In your off-time, you can explore the vista whilst marking monuments (granting temporary buffs) and your own territory, where you’ll be able to build your own den and store all your goodies.
Co-op will also be available in Vulpine—you’ll be able to team up with your buddies for some intense hunting action or engage in PVP and hunt one another instead.
The game’s trailer shows off the gorgeous low-poly art style, the crafting system and some gameplay. If you’re interested in helping secure the release of Vulpine for PC and Mac come July 2017, check out its Kickstarter page and track its progress in our campaign calendar.
