I enjoy a good eroge visual novel. I also enjoy one with a plot that involves more than just trying to date busty women; something that simply serves to get my attention. With Maid Mansion, you’ve got the standard potential romance options but from what I’ve read there’s a deeper story here than just jiggly bits. There’s little revolutionary in the way it plays, but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
The basic plot behind Maid Mansion is Yuu has inherited a mansion from his paternal grandfather. Apparently, said grandfather has been suspected of harboring political dissidents. Enter a sort of inspector to take a look around for anything out of the ordinary. Even more mysterious is the stipulation that he keep the head maid employed no matter what.
Stepping Beyond the Jiggles
I’ll admit the artwork is what drew me into wanting to look more into Maid Mansion. After all, when all the maids have at least a “C-cup”, you gotta take notice. Looking at the screenshots, you can also tell they most likely end up in compromising positions. This is most certainly not for the younger generation. In fact, they’ve mentioned some scenes are more for the “18+” crowd.
One thing to point out here, is that DEVRU-P is helping with the development of Maid Mansion. If that name sounds familiar, it should. They’ve worked with the strange Panzermadels and Stay! Stay! Democratic People’s Republic of Korea crowdfunded visual novels. However, they’re just helping fund this one.
As a side note, not all characters are included in the base funding goal. Some are locked until certain stretch goals are reached. Either way, Maid Mansion looks like an interesting if risque visual novel.
