GaymerX2 is coming soon to a San Francisco near you; assuming you live near the San Francisco in California. Last year, over 2000 people banded together to celebrate an all-inclusive gaming culture, and this year’s taking steps to be an even bigger event. The Kickstarter has been funded, and the convention will be held at the San Francisco InterContinental, and you should start looking into buying some tickets, and booking a room, because they fully expect to sell out before the con, so there may not be tickets at the door.
GaymerX2 is an all-inclusive convention focusing on the acceptance of LBGT into the gaming world and supplying an atmosphere that is safe for people to be themselves while also playing some awesome video games and meeting some of the developers and authors behind video games, music, and comics, including David Gaider, lead writer for the Dragon Age series, sci-fi author and Internet Troll Slayer John Scalzi, and Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit.
Other events include the marriage of Koen and Chris, a couple that proposed at last year’s GaymerX, and a special guest appearance by WWE Superstar Darren Young as well as performances from Virt, Aethernaut, and 2Mello. The event is unfortunately 18+, for insurance reasons, but if you’re over 18 and want to be a part of one of the up-and-coming gaming and cosplay conventions, tickets are on sale now! If you’re not looking to attend you can still donate to the GaymerX2 Kickstarter to help them achieve a variety of stretch goals that will help the event that much more enjoyable for attendees.
