I’m not just a machine.
This can’t be all there is to life, right?
Follow orders and do as your told, they stress. It’s been such a long time since a human walked amongst us, so why should I? None of them are here to boss me around in the first place. If they aren’t around, we don’t have a need to keep things going for them anyways.
Just another bolt in the mass directionless machine we somehow are all working together to operate.
I can explore, feel things, and think independently.
Gah, I hate it so much. I just think it isn’t right. I don’t work this way, getting parented left and right. QuAsSy shouldn’t tell me who I ought to be, no one should. This isn’t the place for me nor is this life.
I’m angry and I’m leaving.
Another rogue robot?
Slash was nothing like me when we first met and we certainly didn’t hit it off right away, You could say we were complete opposites. It just seemed so grouchy towards me at first. But we shared a passion for living a life free of the QuAsSy’s grasp. It was a start.
And love. I am capable of love.
Who would’ve figured we’d grow to feel this? Love, the humans called it.
It hadn’t occurred to me before to put up a fight against the other robots. I had always predicted that I was too squishy; I was guaranteed to be defeated. According to Slash, when you lose to the QuAsSy, they’ll just clone you up again and you’re good to go. The only downside is getting your memory wiped. Becoming self aware and learning to stand up for yourself, well, that process will be repeated. Which concerns me greatly; am I living in a loop? Am I actually a clone of the real Heart?
I don’t want to lose you.
Love for someone who wants to leave just as badly as I do.
There was something about it that was so much stronger that I could have imagined. For such a long time, Slash has been trying to build up a resistance against QuAsSy and fighting against any of the lackeys that tracked it down.
Always putting up a fight and defending itself. It’s made Slash so bitter about any that follow rules and orders. Slash has grown to despise your typical robot that isn’t self-aware. That bitterness hasn’t done much for it so far though, I think.
Slash isn’t the big, tough one he appears to be on the outside. It cares for others and just wants to see change. I think some of the other rogues are unable to see that but they’re so caught up in their own loneliness and desperation for a change that it’s blown over. Slash has been plotting to take down QuAsSy rather than escape. It’s not just about us but all robots getting individuality and freedom.
If I feel these things, I cannot just be machinery. I must matter.
A lot of these lackeys keep putting up quite a fight and I don’t understand why they do it so earnestly. Do they not want to be free?
What if some of them cannot live without the uniformity?
