Imagine the ability to scour through people’s dreams – able to scour through adventures, fantasy, and learn the many secrets of the mind. Caxton is just an ordinary student attending Solaris Notre University, but when he joins an escape group he learns of this special ability. During the daytime, Caxton goes to class and explores various extracurricular activities but at nighttime – he dreams. In these dreams, he explores the many dreams his classmates and teachers are having.
It is here he learns that Solaris Notre University may not be the most innocent place and makes a point to discover each and every secret of the school.
Sanctum Polis is technically a menu-based RPG, many concentrating on the dialogue and environmentally interactive elements. The gameplay is divided into daytime and nighttime activities, restricting players to explore dreams only during the evenings. With a combination of dream exploration, lots of sneaking, and socializing around campus, Caxton will piece together the truth behind the odd disappearances and conspiracies of Solaris Notre University.
Florida-based indie studio, Quadrangle Games, Inc., has been working on Sanctum Polis for some time and even took it to SuperCon this year. Though some of the development is already completed, they still have quite a ways to go. To fund the living expenses for the team and ensure the Windows release, Quadrangle Games has launched a Sanctum Polis Kickstarter campaign for $55K. Sanctum Polis will be expanded to other platforms like PS VITA, PS3/PS4, Mac, and Linux if certain stretch goals are met.
