Nebula: Sole Survivor is a sci-fi shooter action rpg that recently launched on Kickstarter, and as I’ve previously mentioned, Sci-fi is one of my favourite genres so naturally I wanted to take a look. Now, Nebula: Sole Survivor doesn’t really strike me as a stand-out game on Kickstarter, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be fun. The creator is a CGI artist by trade and promises ‘Jaw-dropping visuals,‘ so I’m a little curious to see how that goes.  With the funding goal only being $20,000 I don’t know how Jaw-dropping he could make it.

I hear her hair’s insured for $10,000.

The developer promises that there will be an open-world for the player to explore and that the creatures in the game will have realistic A.I. Personally, I think all these promises might come on top. I noticed that the voice of the protagonist is his wife who is a waitress. I kinda get worried when I see families working together on games, or anything business related actually. Perhaps she is genuinely a wonderful voice actor, but my mind winces anyway.

On the plus side, there is an open beta available if you head to the Kickstarter page. However, I’m afraid the plot of the game is the same as most Sci-Fi games: folks were terraforming a moon when suddenly the aliens attack and kill everyone except your character. While I may be picking on Nebula: Sole Survivor, I do think the came could be cool, if it can fulfill all the promises it’s making that is.

If your interested you can check out the Kickstarter or help it get Greenlit on Steam. Either way, live long and prosper.
