phoenixdawn2Eric Trowbridge is a game designer and enthusiast who, like many game developers I’ve met while working here at Cliqist, went through hoops to educate themselves and gear themselves for the real world – even seek the very thing they loved. When it came down to it, games were the answer all along and they hopped into that field the moment they could. Eric created Apixal and began working on his a game, Phoenix Dawn, three years ago. Today, he’s looking for funding through Kickstarter to turn his dream into a reality.

Phoenix Dawn is a gorgeous and simplistic low-poly role playing adventure game revolving around the journey of a girl, named Phoenix, who has magical abilities and whose world is flipped upside down. Phoenix is knowledgeable of magic but it’s small and her skill base is weak but she’s determined to put an end to the evil in the world. Players control Phoenix and nurture her magical abilities along the way by acquiring relics and combining skills and their respective skill trees.

phoenixdawn1Phoenix Dawn is intended to have a high replayability – with randomly generated dungeons and skill tree customization to enable players to experiment with multiple playthroughs. And all of this will be on your iOS device. Isn’t that mind-blowing?

Eric wants to spend the next six months ion non-stop development on Phoenix Dawn but to do so he needs $33K to cover all of his living expenses and financial obligations. Currently Phoenix Dawn is planned for iOS devices but the $50K stretch goal opens up other platform options such as Mac, PC, Android, Windows Mobile, and even Ouya.
