stonesofsorrow2Stones of Sorrow is a video game that has literally been in development for tens of thousands of years; well, at least as far as the art assets. Stones of Sorrow is an over-the-top and fast-paced roguelike currently being developed by Rain Pohlak. You may recognize Rain from Neoanderthals, his death metal band, but soon his name will be synonymous with games made out of real ancient cave paintings, and his game will share the same brutal aesthetics as his music.

20140317164954-stones_of_sorrow_execution_Indiegogo_coverIn Stones of Sorrow, you have been betrayed by your closest brother, and the only way to truly conquer him and redeem yourself is by finding one of the Stones of Sorrow and bashing his noggin with it. On your way to one of the Stones of Sorrow, you must beat the absolute poo out of hundreds of horrifying, historically accurate foes, all the while strengthening your weapons, character, and skills in combat. If all of that wasn’t hitting all the right notes, you also get to devour the corpses of your enemies. There has never been and will never be a more metal game.

Stones of Sorrow is currently seeking funding on IndieGoGo, so get on in there for your chance to earn exclusive merch and in-game items for your contributions. You can also pre-order the game by backing it at any level, and if you’re still on the fence about this whole “corpse eating” deal, go on over to their IndieGoGo page,  take a look at their video and give their alpha/demo a try!
