10kbp3There was once a time where we did not rely on technology to get around and about. Survival depended on your ability to hunt and avoid being hunted. It depended on your gathering skills and your architectural genius with sticks, mud, or possibly a cave to avoid predators. Now, we have machinery to do everything for us – we’re fine. Food is easily accessible. Any threat is usually taken down with weaponry. And come on, our houses are ginormous and impressive.

Desauram Studios, from the United Kingdom, is taking survival games back to the Stone Age with 10,000BP. No, really, the Stone Age. The design of the game is simple: players are cavemen in the Stone Age that must find a way to survive; which includes important objectives such as avoiding predators, fending off predators, locating a source of food, and establishing a house or hut of some sort for shelter. It’s a relatively simple concept that has the potential to be both addictive and intriguing.

10kbp2Desauram Studios has been working on 10,000BP for roughly a month so far and needs a little bit of funding to get the project moving forward a little bit; including artwork, improved programming, program licenses, the works. Desauram has turned to Kickstarter as a venue for the funding required to complete 10,000BP, aiming to gain £200.

So far, the Kickstarter has already exceeded the amount needed, reaching £945. No stretch goals are set other than the £1,500 goal to set up multiplayer. With the campaign concluding June 21, it should be interesting to see how much money Desauram Studios will raise for 10,000BP.
