In the latest Kickstarter update for Planetary Annihilation, creator Uber Entertainment Inc has announced a big thank you to supporters with the the gift of a free copy of the “next game in the series”, Planetary Annihilation: TITANS. The first release was in September of 2014 and TITANS follows nearly a year later as a stand-alone expansion.

Per the instructions on the update announcement, users with linked accounts should find the game in their Steam Library along with a “gift”.  Planetary Annihilation: Titans adds 5 new Titan-class super units, 16 standard units and new planets which feature “multi-level terrain”. The early reviews on Steam are in the very positive range, so don’t let all those red thumbs pointed down lead you astray if you’re a fan… though the main complaint does seem to be the price of what some call an “add-on” that “should have been with the main game”.

The $39.99 price tag may be a turn-off for some, but I’ll bet the $FREE price isn’t. It seems like this may be a bit of a, “please don’t be mad at us anymore” gesture to backers and followers who hit various levels of disgruntled from mildly annoyed to severely agitated over some of the developers choices. If you’ve played the game and/or its expansion, what do you think? Let us know in the comments, and check out the launch trailer below.
