Adventure game fans should recognize the name of The Journey Down. It’s a point and click series heavily inspired by African culture and the first two episodes are already available to play on Steam. So, why am I talking about this for a crowdfunding blog? The simple answer is that the final part of the trilogy will be partially funded through Kickstarter, starting on October 1. So, mark your calendar you adventure game fanatic.

The Journey Down

For those that aren’t familiar with The Journey Down series, you play as Bwana and his sidekick Kito as they leave their beloved gas station and go on a journey to find a lost journal and are swept along on a current that takes them far from home as they discover the mysteries behind their long lost father. The third installment is the finale and SkyGoblin promises to make this one the most epic chapter of the series.

The Journey Down

The Journey Down is heavily influenced both by the classic adventure titles as well as African culture. Even the character design has been taken from various tribal mask designs. Which I feel adds a unique look to the games.

While I have yet to play the previous entries in the series I do have them in my Steam account. And I guess now is a good time as any to dust them off and give them a go. It will certainly give me something to do while I wait for October and the launch of the Kickstarter.

If you’d like to show some pre-Kickstarter support you can head over to The Journey Down Kickstarter Thunderclap campaign for the October 1st kickoff.
