I always find it a bit sad whenever I see a project that I back not make funding by the time the clock ticks down to zero. In the case of Nadia Was Here they managed to get just under halfway to their goal before the Kickstarter ended. However, I do also really like it when the developers don’t take the failure “lieing down” as it were. Instead, Nadia Was Here developer Joep Aben is trudging on despite not getting the money.

Nadia Was HereIn the latest update for Nadia Was Here, Joep thanked everyone who backed, and indicated that they don’t really see this as a failure seeing as how he did manage to get a decent sized fan base despite the unsuccessful Kickstarter. With this in mind, he’s going to continue development, albeit at a much slower pace than if he did get funding. It also means that the “planned extra features” will have to be cut. Still, I’m glad to see that he’s persevering in spite of this setback. It says a lot about Joep.

“However, I’m not giving up on the game, you will be able to play Nadia Was Here in the future!”

Nadia Was HereIt also sounds like the Nadia Was Here Kickstarter won’t be receiving too many more updates in the future, but there are several ways that you can continue to follow development. It’s not the ideal for me but at least it’s not being kept purely to the forums. He’ll also be updating regularly on Tumblr as well as via a monthly newsletter (which I plan on signing up for). In the end, I’m just glad he’s not giving up and that we’ll eventually still see Nadia Was Here become a reality. That’s honestly all I ask for.
