One thing that I can safely say about Kickstarter is that it’s a place where queer content can be made without a publisher breathing down developers’ necks and censoring content to “fit the public consumption” or some other corporate terminology. Lately it seems like a good number of gay games, particularly visual novels, have hit the site recently with Sentimental Trickster being the latest in a growing line of yaoi games.

Sentimental Trickster

In Sentimental Trickster you play as a college student that’s lost in the literal sense. He apparently has a poor sense of direction (something that I can relate to) and the other guys that he lives with seem to be quite the colorful bunch. Personalities aside, which aren’t really talked about much in the pitch, they are all pretty fetching young lads. Speaking of the pitch, there’s not a lot there to get too familiar with the story in Sentimental Trickster but we do know it’s a “boy’s love” game so there will be plenty of gay romancing. If that’s your thing that’s probably all you need to know.

Sentimental Trickster

If for some reason the idea of a guy romancing other guys isn’t enough to get you to instantly back they do have a playable demo to try out before you jump in. The one-man team has already put a good amount of work into Sentimental Trickster, and he’s only asking for $5,000 to finish everything up, but even if he doesn’t manage to get the funding somehow he still plans on finishing the game one way or the other. At least we know he’s dedicated to his cause.
