I’m a huge fan of narrative games, as if it’s not apparent by now. So, it should come as to no surprise that a convention catering to the adventure game and visual novel crowd should be an instant sell. Unfortunately, AdventureX is one just beyond my reach. Which is a pity, as so many friends and developers attend it every year. However, even if I cannot attend I still want to support this endeavor.

AdventureX

AdventureX has just hit Kickstarter, looking to get funds to expand its marketing efforts. The convention is free to everyone, so most of the rewards are extra incentives to pledge. Perhaps the most lucrative ones are the Steam keys and custom “toon”. If you’re a fan of the genre, and don’t have every game made, this is a chance to help out and get a couple titles too.

Even though I don’t plan on going, I’m still pledging to this year’s AdventureX campaign because one day I do hope to attend. They have a modest goal, and it looks like they’ll make funding long before the campaign ends. Despite not having the ability to fly to the United Kingdom, I’m glad to hear that they’re planning on trying to document the event. At least that’s what I’m gathering from the pitch.

AdventureX

When it comes to adventures, I can’t get enough of them. I’ve made plenty of friends and contacts from developers, and one day I hope to meet them in person. Whether it’s at AdventureX or elsewhere, I just want to shake their hands and thank them for giving me hours of fun.
